Privacy Notice

This notice covers www.aethora.org, a personal professional website operated by Richard Weber, Dublin, Ireland.

What this site is. A static website — every page is generated in advance; there is no server-side application processing your data on each visit beyond ordinary web hosting.

Hosting and security logs. Like any website, ordinary HTTP request information (IP address, browser user-agent, page requested) passes through this site’s hosting and content-delivery provider and may be logged there for security and reliability purposes. This is that provider’s platform behaviour, not something this site’s own code configures or controls in detail. Actual retention periods are governed by the provider’s own configuration, which is not re-stated here.

Cookies and local storage. This site sets no cookies. An explicit language choice (English/German) and a display-theme choice, if you make one, are stored only in your browser’s local storage — never sent to any server, never used for tracking, and the site works correctly if this storage is unavailable or cleared.

Contact form. The contact form on this site is currently inactive — submissions are not delivered anywhere. This notice will be updated with the specific delivery mechanism, processor, and retention period once contact delivery is enabled and verified.

Domain mailbox. A monitored address (hello@aethora.org) is planned via iCloud+ Custom Email Domain but is not yet active. Once active, mail sent there is processed under Apple’s own privacy terms for iCloud Mail.

Content management. This site’s content is managed through its source repository (hosted on GitHub) and, where enabled, a self-hosted content editor. No visitor data passes through either of these.

Analytics. This site does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking tool. No analytics are enabled by default.

External links. This site links to blog.aethora.org (a separate, personal travel diary with its own privacy notice) and, where supplied, to external profiles such as LinkedIn or GitHub. Those are separate services with their own privacy practices, not controlled by this site.

Automated decision-making. None is used.

Your rights and complaints. Once a monitored contact address is active, questions about this notice can be sent there. If you are in the EU/EEA and believe your data-protection rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, or with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), given this site’s country of operation.

Changes. This notice may be updated as the site’s architecture and services change.
